Over the weekend i have finished my second book. It's title was Backwater and was written by Joan Bauer. Its about Ivy Breedlove and the journey that emphasizes her passion for history. In Ivy's family they are all lawyers, and very close-minded, and didn't easily accept people who are different; because of that her aunt Josephine was not accepted in the Breedlove family. Ivy decides to go on a quest to find her Aunt and find out exactly what happened that made her cut herself off from the family. On her way she has to depend on the guide "mountain mama" and goes through many life threatening situations: white-outs, extreme cold, animals. When she finally meets Josephine, she learns that she just liked to be alone, and loved birds more than she ever did people. She also learns a lot about who her father used to be, and a whole new perspective on life. A storm hits while she's staying, and she has to go across an icy lake in order to save Josephine. When she finally returns, everyone is thankful, and their family ties are stronger than ever.
